Unfortunately, the spare wheels are prone to theft and are an easy target being mounted under the rear of the car by a wire cable which thieves can easily cut to steal the valuable alloy wheel and tyre!
Quite often, this goes unnoticed until you need the spare wheel in an emergency, so it is worth making a weekly check to make sure the spare wheel is still there!
This is the latest, upgraded spare wheel winch that has an extra shroud to make it more difficult to get access to cut the steel cable. Easy to fit, just make sure never to use a power tool to wind the winch mechanism and never wind the cable in with no weight to avoid jamming the mechanism.
