Description
This Transfer Gearbox Oil Temperature Gauge is a high precision mechanical gauge designed for Defender models from 1986 to 2006. It features a full 270-degree sweep and fits directly into a pre-drilled port on the DA9018 transfer gearbox case sump cover. The gauge mounts into a standard two-inch hole and operates independently of electrical power, with optional 12-volt illumination. It offers superior accuracy compared to common electrical gauges using thermistor senders. Additionally, it can measure cooling water or engine oil temperature in commercial or marine applications. The sending tube is 1, 800mm long and contains pressurised fluid, which cannot be shortened but can be coiled behind the dash for neat installation.
