Important: This information is provided as a general guide only. Always check the owner’s handbook, workshop manual or official technical information for your exact vehicle before selecting or adding any lubricant. Confirm the required grade, specification, capacity and filling procedure for the specific engine, gearbox, transfer box or axle fitted to your vehicle.
Important Capacity Notice
Capacities are approximate and may vary with component type, suffix, modification and the amount of lubricant retained during draining. Always confirm the correct specification and final level for the exact engine, gearbox, transfer box or axle.
Using the Evoque and Velar Lubricant Tables
The Evoque L538, Evoque L551 and Velar L560 use several different petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines. Gearbox and four-wheel-drive arrangements also vary according to model year and vehicle specification.
The automatic gearbox, power transfer unit, transfer case, rear differential and four-wheel-drive coupling are separate components. They must not automatically be filled with the same lubricant. Match the complete oil approval rather than relying only on a viscosity such as 5W-30, 0W-30 or 0W-20.

Other Evoque and Velar Fluids
| System | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Power steering | Evoque and Velar models use electric power-assisted steering and do not have a conventional hydraulic power-steering fluid reservoir. STC50519 is therefore not a normal power-steering service fluid for these vehicles. |
| Brake fluid | Use low-viscosity DOT 4 brake fluid meeting the precise JLR requirement. Land Rover technical information commonly identifies DOT 4 Class 6 where the specified fluid is unavailable. |
| Engine coolant | Use coolant meeting the exact JLR specification for the vehicle, commonly STJLR.651.5003 on relevant models. Do not select coolant solely by colour. |
| Diesel exhaust fluid | Diesel models with SCR use diesel exhaust fluid meeting ISO 22241. Do not add it to the diesel fuel tank. |
| Air-conditioning refrigerant | Refrigerant type and oil specification vary by model year. Read the under-bonnet label before servicing. |
| Screenwash | Use automotive screenwash mixed for the expected temperature. Do not use domestic washing-up liquid or engine coolant. |
