DA5704 is an Eaton Detroit Locker automatic locking differential for Land Rover Defender models fitted with a rear Salisbury axle and 24-spline halfshafts. Designed for demanding off-road use, it delivers maximum traction by directing drive to both rear wheels rather than allowing all available torque to be lost through a spinning wheel.
The Detroit Locker remains locked during normal drive conditions but automatically allows the two wheels to rotate at different speeds when required, such as when cornering.
