The GAP IIDTool G4 optional OBD adapter allows the IIDTool G4 Bluetooth diagnostic interface to be used on certain Land Rover vehicles that require isolation of specific OBD diagnostic pins.

This adapter is designed for use with the GAP IIDTool G4 Bluetooth diagnostic tool. It modifies the OBD connection by isolating pins 12 and 13 of the vehicle's OBD port, allowing the G4 tool to communicate correctly with supported vehicles.

The adapter simply plugs between the vehicle's OBD port and the IIDTool interface, making installation quick and easy with no vehicle modifications required.

When is this adapter required?

This adapter is required when using the IIDTool G4 on certain Land Rover vehicles that use earlier CAN bus communication systems.

Without the adapter, communication between the vehicle and the G4 interface may not function correctly.

Vehicles where the adapter is NOT required

The adapter is not required when using the IIDTool G4 on newer Land Rover vehicles that support standard DoIP diagnostics.

• Later Range Rover Sport (L494)
• Range Rover Evoque (L551)

Important compatibility note

The IIDTool G4 does not support the following vehicles, even when using this adapter:

• Range Rover (L322) 2002–2009
• Defender (L316) 2007–2015

For these vehicles the GAP IIDTool G3 is typically the suitable option.
