Brake discs are an essential part of your Land Rover's braking system. They consist of either solid or ventilated metal rotors attached to your wheels that provide a friction surface for the brake pads to squeeze on when the brake pedal is depressed. This friction slows your car down quickly and safely. Brake discs are heavy-duty pieces of kit that should last for many years under normal use. Brake discs should generally last for 2 or 3 sets of brake pads. Unfortunately, however, brake discs corrode or can become dented and warped. So if your car shudders when you apply the brakes, it's often a sign that you need to get your brake discs replaced.
