The Land Rover's cooling fan is an essential part of your engine's cooling system, either blowing or sucking cool air through the radiator to prevent overheating. Older Land Rover's had a fixed fan that always turned with the engine, later models had a viscous coupling that only engages the fan blades as the temperature increases, whilst the latest models have fans with an electric motor that are turned on only when required for extra cooling. A faulty cooling fan, viscous coupling or fan motor can cause overheating of the engine, which can be very costly to repair.
